I am going on on a limb here with this post.. so please bare with me.

Is being Skinny what it is cracked up to be? To be Model thin? To have that "perfect" figure? Do men really like Stick Skinny women?

I am a recovered Anorexic and Bulimic. Anorexic since age 12 and been in remission for I think 11 months. And Bulimic at age 17 and been free of that for 5 years. Do I still struggle? YES.

But why is it that I did this to myself? Because I thought that WAS beautiful. Only to find out.. I was slowly killing myself. Boy was I SHOCKED. I never had a sucidal thought in my LIFE and only to find out I was Killing myself. I thought 2004 was my last year on Earth. But I looked at my daughter and it is because I love HER so much I wanted to get better.

Being thin is NOT all that pretty. And it is a shame that Models make us feel that that is the IDEAL look.

Normal women.. they KNOW they are beautiful and it does not matter what size they are. Because they are confident in themselves that they are beautiful and they don't WANT to be a Size ZERO. And I actually had some women tell me.. "MEN LOVE ATLEAST SOME MEET ON THE BONES".

My point is this... don't let anyone tell you to lose weight or that you are ugly. Look deep within yourself.. and you will see the TRUE BEAUTY.

You have a very valid point Sekotan. Men look and make remarks too. But when it comes right down to it, beauty comes from with in us and is held with in the eye of the beholder.

Models at some point in thier careers have been Anorexic and Bulimic. Is it worth it? I say no! Look at Princess Diana! Until she came forward no one had a clue of her lonely fight.

I believe that, if your happy with your weight and your healthy who cares! It's about you!!! I have met some really beautiful thin women in my days and talk about high maintence! I have also met some of the most beautiful, fun to be with obese women. They were happy inside and out and glowed!

Sekotan would you mind telling us about the difference between Anorexic and Bulimic. Can you gives some knowledge, that may help us to understand why this happens, what are the signs to look for, what cause the disorder, and is there any scientific proof that it is triggered by chemical embalance or self talk?

Thanks so much, for sharing,

Great topic that a lot of young women go through.
