Steps you can take for a cleaner, healthier future!

Between pollution of the environment and indoor polution, our body is under siege. Asides from toxic air and chemicals in ground water, many of your personal care products contain harmful invaders and deliver them into the fortress of your body just as harmfully as polluted water and air can. No one is safe unless proper precautions are taken. Here's what you can do to help yourself and your family during this crisis.

Steps You Can Take on the Personal Front to Reduce Your Toxic Exposure:

  • Dont use weed killers (herbicides) or bug sprays (pesticides).
  • Buy organic foods when you can.
  • Observe all fish advisories.
  • Eat lower on the food chain -- choosing fruits, vegetables and grains rather than dairy foods and meat.  Preferably soy milk or rice milk, as opposed to cow's milk as cow's milk is just as toxic as ground water (visit www.notmilk.com for more information)
  • Use non-toxic, environmentally friendly cleaning supplies.
  • Keep your home well-ventilated and air purified.
  • Dont smoke and keep away from second-hand smoke.
  • Dont buy products that contain PVC, mercury, sodium lauryl (SLS), diethanolamine (DEA), triethanolamine (TEA), propylene glycol, fluoride, alcohol or phthalates.
  • Dont use burning as a way to get rid of yard waste or trash.
  • Reduce the amount and the toxicity of your garbage by buying smart, reusing and recycling.
  • Taking vitamins, supplements and plenty of antioxidants may help the toxins stored in your fat cells to release out of your body.
  • Stay hydrated - drink .5 ounces per pound of your body weight daily. (water) ( not soda, coffee, or tea)
  • Protect your immune system and strengthen

ALUMINUM

Aluminum is the third most common element in the environment and is a toxin to the body. It can be found in processed food, antiperspirants, antacids, paper products, drink containers, foil and cookware.

What is the documented damage that Aluminum can do to the body?

Alzheimer’s disease, a terrible disease that first destroys the mind before it destroys the body of its victims, is a relatively new disease. Alzheimer’s disease is now the fourth leading cause of death among the elderly, behind heart disease, cancer and stroke. No one knew what caused it and how to cure it. But as more and more studies are being completed, there seems to be a fairly common link among Alzheimer’s sufferers. That link is the amount of aluminum they were exposed to.

The World Health Organization conducted studies on chemical pollution and the elderly: “There is a suspected link between Alzheimer’s disease and the toxicity of aluminum …autopsies have found high concentrations of the metal in the brains of people who have suffered from the disease.”
From Public Health Reports, Nov-Dec 1993 V108n6p798(2)
There have been studies done, linking aluminum to Alzheimer’s disease: “The evidence is strong enough that the prudent person will eliminate all food and cosmetic sources of aluminum and will use aluminum cooking utensils only if they are coated,” suggests the author of Nutrition, Health and Disease, Gary Price Todd MD.
Dr. Daniel Perl, Director of Neuropathy at Mt.Sinai Medical Center in New York , suggests: “..avoid aerosol antiperspirants. Aluminum in aerosol may be more readily absorbed into the brain through the nasal passages.”
From the University of California, Berkeley Wellness letter, April 1993 v9n7p1(2)
