Thank you for sharing this with us. I read a synopsis of the book as I am always interested in what is out there regarding wellness (as a nurse with a doctorate in public health and wellness). His work seems similar to that of Andrew Weil. And as a chemist I understand his approach. In my own and latest book using a public health and wellness approach I add dimensions beyond the physical, mental and toxins (and I assume he included environment) that are important for health. These are spiritual health, relationships, and politics-all of which influence health. Thus, I include physical, mental, spiritual health: relationships: the environment; and politics. Following a theoretical framework for the book, I include assessment tools so the reader can identify where he/she is in relation to optimum health and then have several chapters on strategies in the six areas to help the individual move toward optimum health. There include strategies such as how to develop faith, meditate, visualize, establish and maintain relationships, what to eat, how to maintain positive thoughts, use the political process and others. I have gotten wonderful responses from the radio programs I am doing each week around "Healthy Holistic Aging: A Blueprint for Success." Private Reply to Carl O. Helvie (new win) |
